Just as long as it's not Windows.

Windows does not boot and run from USB hard disks.

Linux does but those web sites and downloads could be logged at the company or school's router. How would you erase those?

It's unlikely with Portable Firefox... However, there are plenty of other ways your activities could be monitored, router logging being just one of them.

There is no 100% anonymous method of surfing, period. It's simply impossible to cover all of your tracks. So, if you have reason to try and hide whatever it is you're doing, you may want to rethink doing whatever it is.
