boost my university wifi to connect ?!

Hi dear friends
I have a question related to wifi access
I am living near my university , actually my apartment is 100 meter form university ,My laptop can see my university wifi but cannot connect to it because the signal is too weak. I tried to hold my laptop out of the window from my apartment (LOL) and surprisingly I could connect to the internet . I want to know that is there any way to boost the wifi signal so I can connect to the internet from my university wifi signal ? ! any product (booster?) or any suggestion ?
Thank you very much

Just checking.

I don't see where you did your research on this. That is, this question has been asked here before. Why wasn't the previous answer acceptable? Telling the forum why you can't use the usual solutions can help get you your answer.

To repeat the prior answers:

1. Get some USB wifi dongle with an antenna connection, an antenna and use that.
2. Get some Cellular wifi hot spot thing and use that.
3. Get that low cost DSL from ATT.

boost my university wifi to connect ?!

Thanks for your answer
can you please explain more about these 3 solutions ? how can I get Cellular wifi hot spot or how can I use DSL modem for getting wifi signal ? !

You can head to the shops or for the products mentioned. I only wanted to see if you had done your research. All 3 items are possible solutions and those that sell such things should invest the time to answer your deeper questions.

In short, any of the 3 usually solve this. What does not work is trying to boost your laptop's wifi connection. Sorry but I forgot to note that.

Now I have more familiar with my problem so I can search more about it, I do not want to boost my wifi coonecntion I only want to get universitie's wifi . if it is possible

The usual is the first solution.

Some USB WIFI adapter with an removeable antenna. Then you can hang that out the windows on some USB extender cable. If that fails you add some wifi antenna (which is why we bought this one with the removeable one.

do you know how much does it cost ?! and is the usb wifi adaptor really stronger than the built in wifi adapter fot macbooks?

Depends on the antenna that you hang out of the window.

With a parabolic antenna of a few feet diameter you can easily receive the TV-signal of satellite 20.000 miles above the surface of the earth. So it should be quite well possible to find an antenna that will receive a Wifi signal from 100 meters across (and send something back!).
