***** popping out... What's the big deal?

Feb 2, 2004 9:43AM PST

I don't understand the big thing with Janet Jackson's boob "popping" out. They keep talking about it here as a big scandal because it was a family event. What is the big deal with a human body? Are people denying God's creation? I mean, I think it was stupid to do what she did, but not for the fact that a bunch of kids were able to see a boob, but because it was clearly to provoke Justin's ex-girlfriend, Britney Spears and to outdo her tongue kiss with Madonna which I find extremely childish and immature.

So when you choose to watch football you know what you are going to see, your choice. Did you expect to see a bare boob from a singer?? remember this was not a strip show!
Personally I hate football anyway LOL

Football isn't my fav, either, but if there were more bare ***** I'd probably watch more.

Wink

Who am I kidding, I'd definately watch more.

Two things
Feb 4, 2004 5:58AM PST

1) MTV is just too dull. That and they always blur out the fun parts. Ummm...so I hear from friends.

B) Playboy channel purchases show up on the cable bill, also called 'evidence to be used against you'. You gotta be carefull. You make it seem like you've never had a wife at all!

I've only been married for 14 years, but I am getting used to that faraway look she gets when watching Bernie Williams.

She's the best.

I'm not sure where to draw the line, Glenda,
Feb 4, 2004 10:19PM PST

and I think it is imprtant to bring kids up to survive and act with morality in the world in which they live, not the world that applied to their parents or grandparents.

As regards the porno spam, it displays pudenda and various sexual practices that I'm not happy to see in my inbox.

There's a reality here that seems to get lost. We are human beings, not avatars of God. The Old Testament shows Yahweh changing his mind pretty frequently, and the New Testament is a major change of opinion. It is unreaqsonable to expect a person to be totally consistent in their actions nor opinions. Actually, that was my University thesis in psychology: there is no such thing as a personality, only expectations.

The line changes person by person, situation by situation. The only hard and fast rule I know is keep your word to the ones you love, protect them to the best of your ability, and be honest where honesty will not cause damage.

A major thesis in literature is the lord of the manor who's word is inviolate. Its a cultural lie. Every lord of the manor said to his peersa what was necessary to keep his manor.

To Susie and I, fidelity is the ONLY thing required of our marriage, both coming from broken marriages where the partner enjoyed infidelities. My brother on Christmas Day explained to Susie that she would go to hell, because leaving her husband and moving in with me and eventually marrying me and having children by me made her an adulterer and thus she would go to hell, whereas John, the lay preacher who wouldn't get off his but to save a kid being run over, too much effort, will go to heaven because his and his wife's string of sexual encounters are forgiven as they went through a second immersion when in their twenties.

Sorry, but the Christian religious dogma just goes right up my nose.

Ian, one place to start with the line is......
Feb 5, 2004 3:14AM PST

Remember that SE has men and women posting and reading,
I find your ideas on sex truly vulgar. I get tired of your ideas on sex education for all of SE. If a poll were taken in SE of all members I think 4-5 people would agree with what you have to say, some would be in the middle and a majority would find your posts on sex to be vulgar and disgusting. I don't care what you think is normal, that is your business and more power to you if Susie agrees with them, That is part of marriage and is good. But, Ian SE is not your bedroom and I really would prefer to not be exposed to your views. Sometimes it is like a young boy at the age of discovery, you seem obsessed with sexSad

Well, I've read your discontent, seen the frownie,
Feb 5, 2004 8:44PM PST

and, frankly, I think its a shame that you and Cindi and others have made a commitment to God that appears to denigrate the human factors that your God put into designing humans.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I guess I'll see many more of your frownies, as I've seen since the night I made a post which was viewed by the BBQ group as being a negative view of Evie.

You may have your opinions. The entire BBQ group have opinions with which you apparently warm yourselves, and arm yourselves ready for your next appearence in SE.

However, the fact that a small group of people who have somewhat blinding religious views includes a forum moderator does not impress me whatsoever.

Frankly, Glenda, Sue and I liked you, a lot. That is now lost. Your posts are now completely intollerant of alternative viewpoints.

That's a great shame. DE no longer posts jokes and interesting links here any more, either. Same cause, I imagine.

WE ARE TALKING IN A THREAD WHICH IS ABOUT THE AVERAGE AMERICAN WHO HAS SEX ON BUSINESS TRIPS BEING UPSET BECAUSE A TEAT WAS EXPOSED. This is NOT a thread wherein I raised issues of sexuality.

Your view of Americans is insulting ...
Feb 5, 2004 11:16PM PST

... the average American is not having sex on business trips. You claim fidelity is paramount to your and Susie's marriage. Well, it would appear that it is also paramount to the marriages of those here in SE you denigrate: Cindi, Glenda, myself, Jonah, DE, etc. There are also just many parents who wish to raise their kids as protected from the filth for as long as possible.

BBQ group? Get a grip man!

Because regardless of the PITA of navigating a large thread, we prefer to reply and continue our discussions in the context of the thread. Who appointed you traffic officer? If you don't like it, don't read it, but you obviously can navigate well enough to repeatedly post diversions to another thread. You do realize that this in and of itself has added to the difficulty by needlessly upping the post count Sad

My main beef with it
Feb 7, 2004 8:32AM PST

is I waste time opening up a post only to discover it is the same as the last 3 or 4 I just read, and adding nothing to the discussion. I can understand wanting it to continue elsewhere for ease of access, but the biting reality is that unless we open MANY threads in which we post part of the subthread we are replying to first the whole context if what's said is lost.

- Collapse -
And your post is BS Ian...
Feb 6, 2004 3:20AM PST

The thread is not about WE ARE TALKING IN A THREAD WHICH IS ABOUT THE AVERAGE AMERICAN WHO HAS SEX ON BUSINESS TRIPS BEING UPSET BECAUSE A TEAT WAS EXPOSED. This is NOT a thread wherein I raised issues of sexuality.

and that sounds more like the "average Australian" now doesn't it? (M OPINION only as the facts don't bear out either your or my assumption regarding "average" in this instance.)

You talk badly about those committed to their Christian Religion but get rather bent when it is pointed out that your own religion is based on a premise of "other worlders" colonizing the earth and living deep down inside. Now, in my OPINION, that is something to be committed to (or for as the case may be).

In my OPINION (based on your posts past and present), you are moodier than a woman afflicted with severe PMS and want and expect commiseration and condolances even in the midst of your attacks and whinges EVEN by those you attack and whine about.

Prostitution is really big business today...
Feb 4, 2004 4:21AM PST

If performing a sexual act of any kind for money is prostitution, then, we are elevating that profession to a level it doesnt deserve. Sure the pimps in the entertainment business have found new ways to exploit the oldest profession for unheard of profit levels...but wouldnt ignoring what they do,in the free marketplace of course, be the correct way to discourage this kind of public behaviour?

In Janet's apology, she makes reference to a "costume reveal." There is actually a technical term for the cheap stunt they pulled!

As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Beatles' arrival in America, I once again lament the sorry state of popular music.
