General discussion

Bombarded by Spyware/Malware

Apr 14, 2005 1:22AM PDT

I am being bombarded with spyware/malware. I have so many spyware scanners loaded right now, its ridiculous. I just had my browser hijacked. No matter how many times these antispyware would catch all this, in a very short time, it would all be right back. Is this a norm or have I done something to bring all this junk on. Also, every day I get notice after notice about an attempt on trojan viruses. I am almost to the point, to just reload my computer and start all over. I realize that would be just a short time fix, but would it help? All this has really gotten bad in the past two weeks. Before then I would run Norton's, Spybot and Adware faithfully once a week and it was taken care of. Now, that doesn't even touch the problems. The day in letting others use my computer is over.

Maybe the browser is too trusting.

Try FIREFOX.

I notice this is your 1st post on C/Net. Here is a better forum to get your answers.

Also, Bob gave you some good advice, Use a different Browser. There are a lot of good ones, but Firefox seems to be the most popular. By the way, are you useing SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard? They are very good. Also a good on line scan such as HouseCall.
If you go to the link I just gave you, be sure you give them more information about your operating system so they can help you.
Hope this will help.
