Bomb smuggled into British parliament

by Dale Johnston / September 17, 2004 5:09 PM PDT

What a week.... security with more holes than a tuna net. First it was Batman scaling the central balcony at Buckingham Palace, then protestors against the ban on fox hunting rampaged across the floor of the House.

And today (Friday), saw a fake bomb smuggled past armed police and security scanners into the members' lobby by a news reporter. The Home Secretary has called for an end to the "medieval" system of stocking-legged frok-coated Sargent at Arms and the the appointment of a Security Director.

That could be serious.

Just last night I was watching a program on the tel-e that shows new discoveries for the week. What was interesting is a new type suitcase bomb (new to me) that sets off conventional explosives, but connects to a radiation device that sets off radiation to spread widely and kill like the Atom Bomb radiation (but of course not that wide).

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
