I need to change the filter on a French door fridge, Model RSG257AARS. However, when I try to back out the old one, it only moves a quarter inch or so and freezes. Should I be pushing up on the filter to release it? It belongs to a friend and I don't want to break anything.

Is it this filter?

To me it looks like you need to twist it counter clockwise to have it release.
