1. Many people install "Windows".

2. A large percentage don't know that Microsoft does not update the BIOS for them, set the BIOS if it's set wrong and ... download the proper drivers for their machine.

There, the big secret is out. As to your machine, the supplier must be pummeled into telling you what and where these drivers are since I can only keep track of the generic issues. Which are...

A. In my experience, when I see a machine with certain issues I update the BIOS, use the BIOS defaults and obtain the latest drivers for all that's in the machine.

B. No spyware allowed. No P2P filesharing. If there is such, I have to just nod my head and wish them the best of luck.

C. No spyware allowed. The problem is that many will run just one anti-spyware tool or even worse get suckered into some TV advertisement flaunting some "StopSign" antivirus and antispyware that is... spyware. The use of just one tool may cover some 80 or better percent, but I've found a suite of programs does better and even then I have had to dig deeper.

In closing, I don't know what will happen with UT or UT2004. Games are rough on machines and owners.
