Bob, how to use liveCD to diagnose computer

Downloaded the DSL and burned disk.

My dead computer is up and run with DSL on CD now.
Seems so normal. There was no error at all.

How do I diagnose now?

Kick it up a notch. PCLinuxOS 2007 RC2

It will do more and maybe stress it a bit.

The test is more about if Linux complains. If Linux doesn't complain then the hardware might be OK and Windows damaged. Then again we have those old cracked copies of Windows I run into again and again. I don't know why people show me those.

I never got a clear picture of what Windows you had.

WINXP PRO SP2

Cracked. used for ages. never found problem to be honest ...
And actually I tried clean install -- no miracle on any try.

BTW, how to stress the DSL then?
