While I do know that PowerDVD and others do upscale you need to ask the laptop's maker for this detail. It is not standard and to make matters more fun some report difficulties to outright failures using a laptop as a Bluray or DVD player. I suggest you don't use a laptop for such to drive a HDTV.
I was wondering, if I buy a laptop with a bluray drive, will it be able to play high-def Profile 2.0 Blu-ray movies in addition to upscaling standard DVDs? If not is there firmware updates like some stand alone player or a PS3? Or am i better of getting a stand alone BD player or PS3. Any suggestions will be apprecaiated. domo
