Question

Bluetooth transmitter for multiple a/v tuners

Hi, I'm looking for something that will allow me to use my Bluetooth headphones with a Marantz 5011 receiver. I bought a Bluetooth transmitter with a 3.5 mm auxiliary output and RCA cables, but the issues is I can only connect to a specific tuner in the back of the receiver. So if I toggle between say Apple TV and my DVR, the tuner only works with the tuner the transmitter is plugged into. Are there any other options? Or better yet, is there an option in the back of the receiver similar to an HDMI out that automatically switches tuners? Many thanks.

Just for clarification ...

I meant my "headphones" only work with the tuner the transmitter is plugged into.

Thank you for the response. But my issue isn't that I don;t have enough RCA inputs. It's that I can only hook up my bluetooth transmitter to one tuner, so when I toggle back and forth between, say, DVR and Apple TV, the bluetooth transmitter only works in the tuner it's plugged into. I'd have to manually go behind my receiver and switch it. Wondering if there is a better option.

There is only one 'tuner'

Not sure if the nomenclature is the issue here more than anything, but just want to clarify.

Understand, you have various *input sources* connected to your Marantz AV receiver. This presumably includes the Apple TV & DVR. OK. That means you only really need a single bt transmitter per se, since the AV receiver will send out audio from whichever input you designate via the speakers or headphone jack. [Headphone jacks normally override everything else when plugged in, btw.]. Only if you have the ATV and DVR in different rooms would things be mucky.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the issue is whether or not any particular Bluetooth transmitter you utilize is able to connect adequately via the headphone jack. That's sometimes not always feasible. It might be as simple as using a 1/4" to 3.5mm adapter at the headphone jack, then plug in the BT transmitter as such. An RCA to 3.5mm adapter may also be required.

Here's how I would hook up the whole shebang:

ATV (HDMI out) --> (HDMI in) Marantz 5011 AV receiver
DVR (HDMI out) --> (HDMI in) "" ""

BT transmitter (out via 3.5mm) --> (in via 3.5mm) / [3.5mm to 1/4" headphone jack adapter] / (in via 1/4" headphone jack) Marantz 5011

Ok, feel like I'm getting there but ...

Pepe7, everything you said makes sense. The setup you suggested is exactly how I have my system. The only question I have is the BT transmitter out to the headphone jack adaptor. (Oh, I have a 3.5 mm and RCA options in my BT transmitter.) Where is the input on the receiver? Maybe a dumb question but it doesn't seem intuitive to me. I am not sure either but...

you want a selector with 2 input and 1 output. In your situation the "tuner" connects to the "input"...and the transmitter connects to the "output".

Re-read my 'recipe' for your connections above

It plugs into the 1/4" headphone jack in front.

Do you know what a tuner is?! Your question couldn't be more unclear and confounded.
