For the PS3 we would use the PS3 controls.
Sorry but I can't guess why you would try other than what works.

I have unsuccessfully attempted to use both an X-Box 360 controller and a Playstation 3/PC offbrand nonsense controller to operate older games on my PC (i.e. Final Fantasy Tactics) I have been told this is because the controllers relay information via bluetooth technology, while the USB simply charges. It occurs to me, however, that in both cases some of the buttons DID actually relay a signal, specifically the arrow keys and the start button (possibly L and R and select as well, but I wouldn't swear to it). Can someone explain to me why?
