Question

Bluetooth Adapters

Apr 4, 2017 12:09PM PDT

Have two very good FM radio tuners. Is there any technology/adapters that can take the audio that would normally go to the speakers and transmit via bluetooth? Hoping for an informed opinion.

I own a few.

Do these have a headphone jack? There are too many Bluetooth audio transmitters and well, if no headphone jack you'll have to get the amplitude level down to headphones to get these to work.

Have a few of these and write to inquire if I can connect this to the headphone jack of an FM Tuner can the audio be transmitted to a bluetooth enabled headset, mobile device, etc? The manual does not go that far...

When I go beyond the manual I must try it out. I do have a few devices that plug into the headphone jack and transmit that over bluetooth but folk freak out over a lack of documentation. But it works here.

Bluetooth is great because it’s everywhere—almost every modern FM radio tuner, smartphone, laptop, and tablet has the wireless communications technology built right in, and you don’t need any special apps to utilize it.

It's always trial/error

Often the manuals leave out the specifics. OTOH, they won't provide all permutations of connectivity either- that's just not practical, given the subtle but sometimes significant differences in how these various wireless devices behave in the real world, regardless of what specs they share.

OK. You can always try a garden variety BT adapter/transmitter & BT headset from Amazon with your 'tuner'. Typically though, you won't be connecting a BT adapter with a mobile device (as in smartphone). It's usually the built in BT of the smartphone sending a wireless signal to either a standalone BT speaker, or larger AV system (e.g. AV receiver with surround speakers, etc.). FM gets lost in that process often since we now have the ability to stream FM broadcasts over the internet with our various tablets and phones.
