Bluetooth

Mar 18, 2006 5:03PM PST

i've resently seen my friend with a USB Bluetooth adaptor and wanted one for my self. i don't own a laptop so i don't really need a USB type Bluetooth adaptor. I was wondering whether PCI type Bluetooth adaptors exist? Also can i use my bluetooth headset as a mic for my computer?

Bluetooth headset as a Mic?? what do you mean??

But, what I know is, a small speaker can be modified to be use as a mic... -- just connect the speaker cable to the mic jack... --

Check out the official Bluetooth website

This has all the info on the Bluetooth specification, as well as some ideas on how to implement Bluetooth technology. The key is in the ''profile'' which defines the capability of the adapter to connect to a headset, support file transfer, and act as a replacement for a USB cable over a greater distance than a typical USB cable (up to 30' line-of-sight using a class 2 adapter).

I recently purchased a couple of these: http://www.eforcity.com/pothxxxxad03.html

These are class 1 devices, and can transmit/receive up to 300' or 100 meters, roughly.

To answer your question, yes, you can use your bluetooth headset, like the one you might use with a cell phone, with a computer with bluetooth built in or using a bluetooth adapter.

Good luck!
