Feb 11, 2011 11:59AM PST

I have Pans. BD60 w/o built in wifi only ethernet port. My new computer DELL 580 came w/o Lan.? built in. I also would like to use my older computer in another room. How can I accomplish this economically within reason. This may sound easy for most but I don't have kids to show me and am very much a newbee

Could give a more complete model number?

It would seem that Dell has more than one model line for the 580 series. It also is hard to imagine a new computer without some kind of internet connection. Please clarify the model number.

Let me recap:
- Your blueray player only has wired Ethernet.
- Your Dell 580 has ??? (you didn't really tell, but if it's a desktop I suppose came with an Ethernet connection on the motherboard, and without WiFi).
- Your older computer has ??? (you didn't tell anything about it).
That's all very nice to know.

- You want to use your old computer in another room.
That's simple. Just move it. The only prerequisite to use it is that you have power there.

- Unless you made your post somewhere else I suppose you have Internet at home. But you didn't tell anything about it. Is it cable, ADSL, satellite or dial-up?

Maybe you can make a post that's more clear, both about what you have and what you want.

Bluray no wifi
Feb 12, 2011 12:51PM PST

The BR player Panasonic DMP BD60 is in living room and has ethernet and HDMI connections. My new DEll i580-8139NBC is located in den where internet wire is connected to its ethernet port. I am in rural area no DSL or Cable so roof antenna from Invisilink gets signal from beam between towns water towers. The new Dell has only ethernet port? My old Dell will be located in basement rec room and hopefully getting signal from den via some wireless setup? The old dell has added USB2, Ethernet port. Its 10 years old but has pentium 1.7 GHz. I am sorry if I didn't explain more precise in first post.

Then buy a wireless router to connect to your current modem.

The usual one can connect 4 wired devices and even more wireless.
