Blue Screens every time I run Norton AntiVirus

System Information:
HP 524W; AMD Athlon XP 2100+; 1.73 GHZ; 736 MB RAM

A few months ago, I posted that I was receiving a ton of Blue Screen errors; eventually I found out that the system was too hot, and the system worked fine for months. A couple of weeks ago, after updating my anti-virus to Norton 2005, I started receiving the blue screen errors again. 0x0050 and 0x008e

I have run as many free virus checks as possible without finding one virus, I've ran the virus check in safe mode, no virus. Everytime its run, I get one of the two messages.

Any ideas??????

Toss out NAV, try AVG from http://www.grisoft.com and ... what happens?

My view is subjective, but I gave Norton the "deep six" a few years ago, following repeated glitches and system freezing. I have been using Grisoft AVG for as long as I can remember.

Dropping Norton...not now

I would consider removing it, but that would mean I paid the $40 for a product I am not using, so basically its a waste. I will consider it when I need to renew for next year, but in the meantime, what can cause this issue and how can I stop it from happening.

I just searched Symantec for those 2 error codes and didn't get anything but if you go to this page and type in "blue screen" (with the quotes)and put a checkmark in the "knowledge base" box and hit "enter" that are 389 results. You could check and see if any of them pertain to you.
