Blue screen on Win XP, when using Pcmcia Wireless adapter

Aug 24, 2004 12:06AM PDT

Hi, I have a CNet CNWLC-811 network adapter on a Windows XP. I've installed the drivers, put the adapter and windows is recognizing it allright. I get connected to my wireless LAN, but a few minutes later windows crashes and shows me the blue screen. I've checked and I have the latest drivers... so, does anyone know something that I can try?
Thanks in advance,

Matias.

Given so little information, I will share that I just changed make/model PC-Card Wifi devices and the uninstall of the old drivers was anything but easy.

I'd try another card and if you installed the OS and not from some laptop restore CD set, my bet is the person who installed the OS may not know to install motherboard drivers. I can't help you do this on some models (Sony for example) since they don't supply them. In those cases we have no choice but to use the supllied restore CDs.

Thanks for your time,

Matias

The lack of information thwarts you being helped. For instance there is some known issues with some Wifi pc-cards and some laptops. You didn't take my hint about such and get to post until you fill in the blanks.

Or you can look on Google.com with your laptop model, the cnet card and see if others have noted the problem.

Best of luck,

Bob
