Aug 1, 2010 8:45PM PDT

I was wondering fi anyone could help me.
Im not a computer boffin or anything, and iv tried searching for a similar post.
But for the past month or so, my PC is driving me nuts. Every few minutes a blue screen appears and before i can get the error message it dissappears and restarts.

You write you changed the video card.

But no mention of changing the power supply to supply the new X1650 which is not known for its lack of appetite for Amperes.

Try this. Remove the case cover and point a fan at the machine and see if the problem lessens.

still no luck

the card has its own fan.
I removed the cover with a fan, still no luck.
I still get the blue screen often.
is it a conflict with software or drivers?
clueless.
how do I find out?

The reason to remove the cover

Is not to question if the card had a fan. It's to sniff out if there is a heat issue. If there was any increase in the time between BSODs then that's a clue we can use.

As it stands we can't see if it's the usual heat or the power supply as your post didn't reveal if the time seemed longer and you didn't write about the power supply.

havent rewired

I haven't actually rewired or increased the power supply to the card to b honest. just fitted as to the instructions.
by having the fan on and removing the cover didn't make a difference in the length between bsods.
hope that helps

Then the power supply.

As we know the usual stock power supply is sized for what they give us, maybe that's the item to reveal the details on.

It's a shame it takes this many posts to get to the details.

what details?

am sorry but im having trouble interpreting that last reply.
what details do I reveal?

The power supply details.

The video card you noted is known to tap the power which means we could bsod as the power dips out. Your choice to share the power supply's details from the sticky on the side of the power supply.
