Question

Blue screen heck

Aug 13, 2018 7:02AM PDT

Lenovo lap top, former gf, virus, blue screen.
Have tried the reset, the recovery disk, freezes every way I try.
Lenovo says there is a product key in the MB so if I format and start over I am good?

If the recovery disk fails, there's a good chance that reinstalling Windows fails also.

But trying won't harm. Start with https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10 . No license key needed. Don't forget to install Windows 10 drivers from the lenovo site, in the right sequence.

Yep tried that as well off a windows 10 recovery disk. I likely will format and start from scratch.
I can do that from the prompt right? Haven't since win. 98

You (1) boot from the install medium or (2) you run the setup.exe from a working Windows installation. Since you don't have the second, you must do the first.
