Blue screen at shutdown

I have blue screen problem. When I shut down my PC, the shutdown process stops at a blue screen with error messages suggesting possible incompatible new hardware or software. It seemed the problem started after I installed my new Lexmark 8100 printer which has no Windows XP logo. I uninstalled the printer, it did help to solve the blue screen.

Someone reccomended me to clean the 2 RAM sticks, which I did, and the problem (no more blue screen at shutdown) was solved, but only for a week. I cleaned them again, it no longer helped.

My PC is a Dell desktop Dimension 3100. RAM 512. Windows XP home.

Please help, anyone?

Check Lexmark.com for newer drivers.
