The best solution.....

....would have been to reschedule the series but the MLB schedule is so tight that there really wouldn't have been any other time to do that except at the very end of the season, when the division races will in all likelihood be all wrapped up anyway. Plus, they might have to push the postseason schedule back to accommodate it and that wouldn't happen either.

With the G20 Summit taking place very near the stadium, getting to and from the games would have been very difficult. Moving the games to any location outside of the Toronto area is pretty unfair to the local fans. I wonder if there are any minor league parks they could have tried to use.

I'm glad I don't have to make these kinds of decisions!

They might not be able to fill a minor league park... Sad

They're 19-15 as of today

A winning record and 3rd place in their division. So far they're playing better than they have in years. I doubt they'll contend but they're not sucking, at least not yet.

That may be due to a combination of two things
by Josh K / May 11, 2010 7:29 AM PDT

The first is that the stadium is pretty large, seating nearly 50,000 for baseball games. You need to have a championship-caliber team to fill that many seats.

The second is that it's still hockey season, and this IS Canada after all. Wink

They are in a tough division, but they've screwed up before,

mostly due to interference from the front office which is rumoured to be racist in outlook. I did enjoy the series against the Sox last weekend, but I hate the messing around with the uniforms that they're engaging in. Probably purely a marketing ploy.

I'd have enjoyed that too.....

....being that I support exactly two baseball teams: The Yankees and whoever is playing against the Red Sox. Wink

I don't think I'd ever heard the racist rumors. That's got to be awfully tough in a game where so many players are black, Asian and Latino. At the end of the day aren't they businesspeople? Would they really torpedo their own team's chances of winning to keep minority players off of it?

Well, at least they've got a re-built 1812 era fort to use

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
