I might suggest downloading the CD version of the firmware update and creating a CD. That file and the instructions can be found here:
If that doesn't work, it may require service. You can set up a service by calling 800-SAMSUNG.
I have had the Samsung BD-P1590 for less than a month, and it was playing DVDs and streaming from Netflix, etc. until yesterday. When I turn it on, our Vizio HDTV recognizes it, shows the "bubble screen" and then the player locks up in the "Close" mode. I have used all of the suggestions in the "Troubleshooting" area, unplugged it, reset to factory settings, and then it played a DVD, so I went to "Settings" to make sure that our wireless network and other settings were correct. I got almost all the way through that, left it for a few minutes, and the gray screen returned, followed by the blue one with "No Connection". The player gets stuck on the "Close" message, and will not play or open at all. Any suggestions? Please tell me the order in which I should be doing things....I am an "A,B,C,D" person.
