Blu Ray BD-P1600 network problems

I had the BD-P1600 for awhile and it had be working great with Netflix and other online stuff.I hadn't used the player for a few weeks and today I decided to use, but i'm unable to connect it to the internet. I keep on getting network failure, but when i config the ip address myself I get to the point of fail gateway during the connection test. I'm using a Linksys WRT54G router and connecting to the player wired.
