Question

Blu ray 3D work around

by dharris1969 / March 25, 2013 8:20 AM PDT

After a few months I finally bought my first 3d film. Put in the disc and it does not recognize the 3d format. My receiver does not have 3d capability so I need a work around. Was thinking of connecting BR HDMI directly to TV, then digital out to Receiver. Is this a good way?

My TV is the PN60E7000FFXZA, doe my model pass 5.1 from digital out when BR player is connected to TV via HDMI?

Hi dharris1969,

If you have the open ports, I'd suggest going from the player via HDMI to the receiver. That way the signal can just pass through rather than relying on ARC for the audio.

My Receiver does not handle 3D pass through, I wish it did. I decided to go directly from BR player to TV via HDMI, then for the sound digital coax to Receiver.

Hi dharris1969,

Ah, yes, of course, then the setup that you suggested would be optimal.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
