This technology is new, and there are some issues. I would let a few generations pass before plunking down some serious cash on these models. Also, DVD storage has its pros and cons. But for most people that come on this forum, the cons far outweigh the pros. Suggestions usually are for miniDV and hard disk camcorders. Lately, flash memory camcorders have grown in popularity due to the declining price in flash memory (which is still on the more expensive side.)
Personally, I would go with either a hard drive or miniDV model and transfer the video to the computer and burn a DVD of the video. You can save the original HD video for the future if you currently do not own a BluRay burner.
Has anyone made the switch to Blu-Ray? I'm thinking about buying the DZ-BD10HA model (http://www.hitachibd.com/) but I've never used Blu-Ray before - any advice?
