Resolved Question

BLU phone in europe?

Sep 29, 2016 9:07AM PDT

Hello everyone,

I'm kinda new to this forum and I don't know whether this thread is in the right place or not, if it isn't, you can replace it if you want.

So my question: I'm a european citizen and I was searching for a new phone to buy, when I saw the BLU energy XL, which is an awesome phone as far as I see. I wanted to buy it but it isn't shipped to europe. Luckily enough my sister is in the USA for a few months now so I can let the phone ship to her and then she can bring it to Belgium, that would be a good solution, but will the phone work in europe when it's bought in the USA? will the networks and stuff all work here in europe, or is it impossible to just use a phone shipped in the USA in europe?

Thanks in advance!

Anthony

It's somewhat complicated.

You would get the carrier's bands and technologies listed and then see if there are matches in the model phone. That said my buddy did go to Brazil with a Blu and it worked fine. So far it seems fine every time if we hand the employee any unlocked GSM phone.

how can I be sure?

thank you for your answer!
probably, it will work, but is there any way I can be sure about this? I don't want to spend 250$ on something I can't use....

I wrote how.

I wrote how in the first sentence of my reply. Since I don't know the target carrier's system, and you would since you are doing this, after that you compare the radio capabilities to that list.

So far, 100% of the Blu's work in South America but there are folk that this answer is not good enough so they have to do the work.

yeah I know you wrote why but I mean I don't exactly know how I should do this and what exactly I should compare. But I'll try to google it. thank you!

Let's look at a random phone's radio.

http://www.gsmarena.com/apple_iphone_5s-5685.php and click on the Expand button under Network.

That's one long list of networks.

Now find your carrier's list for the city this is going to and see what matches.

-> For now, I have yet to find myself doing this with over a dozen unlocked GSM phones but once in a while a person gets worried and they get to do the work.
