Some software is running. You get to find it.

1. Is the machine free from parasites? That is software besides virus, worm, trojan?

Parasite removal programs.

http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6132-0.html?forumID=32&threadID=1313&start=0 notes the five scanning tools and removal tools that are fairly safe. If one does encounter an issue, its always been damage done by the MALWARE. The most common issue being Layered Service Provider replacement which you can use LSPFIX (Hint: use http://www.google.com to find).

The thread has follow on discussions about new links if you don't want to use Google to find an item.

2. Did you install some firewall and it does this now?

Bob

PS. All the tools are free.

I was using "streets98" CD to locate a position and there was some kind of error message. I don't know for sure what it was.

blinking hour glass fixed

I went to start in run box type in msconfig and clicked run or OK. next In startup options uncheck any Ethernet port or internet adapter in start up menu, mine was GA311 two boxes one was uninstall and the other was start up wizard unchecked and problem solved , I recently upgraded a few drivers and had issues trying to install this one, so my advice if you have just updated a driver it might be malfunctioning just disable it and try ,if not you can always enable it
