Use the procedure described in the following MSKB article:
Q313853 - "System Restore Tool Displays a Blank Calendar in Windows XP".
If you want to use the reg file method, after you copy and paste that code under Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 in Notepad, save it as let's say florida.reg name. Double click florida.reg. See if System Restore is working. If it's working, and you can revert to a convenient point, make sure that you can use System Restore. If not, double click florida.reg again.

My H-P 2500 Presario laptop developed a problem in Outlook Express. I could not access any links that appeared in an E-mail. Also, I could not open on-line greeting cards. I suspected a virus. Tried to use Norton AV, but, the Norton screens were blank. Tried to do a system restore, but, it too had only a blank screen. Downloaded Spybot. Ran it. Found 8 items. Tried to fix them, but, Spybot tried to log a System Restore point first. It just sat there and would not continue. Where do I go from here?
I have Windows XP and the Operation System CD that came with the computer.
