blank destop after adjusted color and rebooted

by reddrumgirl / April 8, 2004 12:12 PM PDT

I just reformatted my laptop about a week ago and it has been doing great. I downloaded windows media player
9 and the colors looked blurry so I reset the colors. I think I clicked on the wrong color config. When the computer rebooted after changing the configuration I have a screen I can't see! I know its there because when the computer comes up I see Toshiba in red color like always and then the windows 98 screen comes up.I hear it continuing to load my desktop- then I see nothing. Is there a way to adjust these settings again when I can't see my desktop? I live and learn by my mistakes.

If safe mode doesn't work (I think it will) boot into MS-DOS, type scanreg /restore, choose a date when everything still worked and restore your registry to the state is was in then. You might lose WMP 9, however.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
