Try booting into Safe Mode, (instructions here), and select the first option. See if Explorer works in Safe Mode.
If not, then also in the Safe Mode list of options, try the "Last known good configuration" option.
See if either of those work.
Hi. Today, when I started up my laptop, it froze at my desktop during bootup. I could see my wallpaper just fine, and my mouse was functioning, but the icons and the start menu thing at the bottom did not show up. I used task manager to kill explore.exe and restart it, but when I try that, it says 'Windows cannot find explore.exe blah blah blah'.
I was able to get on my browser by starting 'iexplore.exe', and thats how I'm typing this at the moment. Can anyone help me? =(
Thanks in advance.
I am running on Windows XP MCE if that helps. I haven't installed any new hardware or messed with anything of that sort.
