Question

Blackberry phone memory card asks to format?

Feb 12, 2014 11:49AM PST

Recently, as trying to view the stored photos on the memory card of my blackberry phone, a "Memory Card error" problem pops out. So, I pick it out and try it on my laptop with a card Reader. The Windows just asks me to format it before using. Is there something wrong? Is it possible to copy all the stored photos and videos off from this memory card before formatting? They really mean a lot to me! Please, help me! Thank you in advance!!!

Doesn't BB have BBTools to connect the phone to the PC? That should sidestep the Windows issue.

Recover card data at first.

Have you restored all your card data back successfully?
You'd better not formatted this card before successful data recovery, since the formatting process may increase the risk of permanent data loss.
What you should do is to stop using this card and try to restore all your wanted data back with some data recovery tool, like 4Card Recovery, PhotoRec and iCare Data Recovery Free, etc.
No matter which one you choose to use, you'd better act carefully in case of future data loss.
Note:
Do not forget to format this card after data recovery and see whether this card can be used functionally as before.
Do not forget to back up everything well in the future.

Follow the Windows suggestion to format your phone memory card?

You'd better not format or overwrite this card for reducing data recovery difficulties.

And then, try to download a card data recovery tool to rescue all card files back:
4cardrecovery.com/howto/sd-card-format-recovery.html

You should remember to scan this card more times for more original data.

Note: Do format this card after data recovery and back up all restored data on another storage device.
