Question

black screen installing Windows

Mar 3, 2016 12:05PM PST

At first i was trying to fix h1z1 king of the kill someone told me to use sfc /scannow.after i restarted my computer my widows that i bought on pcpart pickup says it's notgenuine. And wire or wireless internet doesn't work only on my computer. I've tried reinstalling drivers and anything else Google and YouTube said. So i tried to 're install Windows 2time. With the cd. Both times it stops close to the end with a black screen except the 2nd time is a perma black screen even after restarting. I've tried safe mode but it says I'm installing Windows and it restarts the computer for me. The only way my computer does anything it's when this cd is in. I can't repair or install windows cause it tells me to restart with out cd then put it in. Tried that but one again this black screen prevents anything from happening.

Answer
That points me to hardware issues.

When I get a black screen installing Windows it has always been a hardware issue. And a small point here, Windows 7 came on DVD, not CD. It's a small thing but details matter as there was a person that managed to pare down a 7 install to just CD size but it was broken in so many ways.

It's dvd whatever. It's the same thing if it only comes with one disk

All W7 installs I've done, some hundreds by now don't do that unless there's a hardware issue. Your post is light on detail so I can't be more specific.

There's not much in your post to work with.

As it stands, all it sounds like is the PC needs repair. I wouldn't guess what it is given the story so far.

In this case it's off to where you get your PC fixed.

Be aware that you need an estimate since here the minimum counter fee is 150USD. To add insult to that I picked up a new laptop during black friday for 129USD. It had the usual dual core CPU, 4GB RAM, Windows 10 and ready to use.
