Black screen

Having a horrible problem.
Upon boot up the first thing that comes up is Bios screen, the the mother board manufacture screen then it all goes black.
Tried a different HDD with boot up disc and had same problem.
This one has me stumped if anyone could shed some light on this I would be very grateful.

What brings you to this conclusion? I hate to really have to replace the motherboard.

Disconnect as much as possible (even the hard disk). Try to boot from diskette or CD. I guess this won't work. That leaves the mobo as the culprit.
But, of course, while examining the problem, you might find another cause.

Onboard (integrated) video? Try video slot card, if you have one and see if that is not the problem. Don't know what type of MB you are using or hook up, VGA I would assume but if all else is normal, OS etc. sounds like video issue.

Graphics card

The machine has an Abit motherboard with an ATI RadeonX 800XL Graphics card. I'm hoping that it may be that and not the motherboard.

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
