From your post it sounds as if you have tried the monitor on two PCs, right? If so, does the monitor have a power light and does it come on? If you leave it on, do you get any heat coming from the vented case on top? If no, can you try another power cord? If there is indication of power but no display, have you tried brightness controls or tried to view monitor in a darkened room to see if there is any glow at all? These are things you can try to troubleshoot to see if there is any hope but if you get no power indication at all even with a new cord, I say it's bad. Also, a power indicaton but no display when hooked to a working PC likely means the same. You can take it to a PC repair place to have it checked but the bench charge might go a long way toward getting a replacement.
I am back again. I still can't get my Compaq computer 633 mhz, 128 mbs memory and 15 gb hard drive to boot into the Compaq monitor. The monitor is black.
I just wanted to know if the monitor is bad. It is only four years old and I never had any problem with it before. I was online earlier this week and got some very helpful information on the video card. I got the computer to use another monitor where I couldn't before. I am wondering if the Monitor is bad since I can't get it to work on my Gateway.
Thanks for the help,
Laraine
