Here in Australia that's a major shopping day comparable to black Friday, 26th of December when everyone had Christmas money to spend and so everyone throws a sale.
That's pretty much black Friday in December, doesn't the UK have boxing day?
I was reading this evenings paper (http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23594268-details/7am+and+the+shopping+day+dawns/article.do) and wondering if the UK was copying the American idea of black Friday today.
But unlike America we did not get huge crowds in London but they claim some good discounts and some free breakfasts at Banana Republic and M&S.
They also show about 20 people outside the apple store in London.
