Black circles on LCD screen?

by TKris / July 28, 2011 3:33 AM PDT

We purchased a Samsung 50", 1080p LCD TV about 2 years ago. Yesterday when I turned the TV on I noticed a perfect black half circle along the bottom of the screen, in the middle just above the Samsung logo. When I turned my TV on today I saw two more, along the left-hand side of the screen, and one more beginning to form in the bottom left corner. I also noticed that the one that formed yesterday was beginning to grow bigger. I left the TV on for a bit and it appears that the ones along the left-hand side are already starting to expand. Has anyone had this problem? What could it be?

TKris - Did this ever get resolved?
by Cyndi423 / November 28, 2011 7:47 AM PST

We have the same issue and they refuse to do anything about it. We have extended warranty and they are claiming we did the damage to the TV ourselves (which of course we did not). I would be very interested to know if this got resolved. Ours has giant spots down the left and right of the screen. We woke up one morning and they were there.

I have seen this only a handful of times.

The best I can offer is trying the options in the Service Issues thread, but they would have to determine it was Samsung's fault outside of warranty. I'm sorry, but I have no idea what would cause this.;threadListing

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
