BIOS Settings and Hard Drives

Hello,

If I restore to the default settings in the BIOS menu, will the current listings for what the Primary Master and Primary Slave be removed? I have a 20GB HD that is listed as the primary slave and I wish to remove that listing from BIOS. Also, when I reboot the computer, will BIOS once again detect the HDs based on their placement on the data cable?

This depends on the BIOS and how it was coded. Since there are no assurances to how this will work out I always try it.

But if you clear the bios settings and there are good cables, drives and hardware most BIOS's will redetect just fine.
