Yes you have to use the F6 install method and use the floppy disk with the SATA drivers.
Out of curiosity, why a new discussion on this very old issue? I know some get upset about such a question but why not use the prior discussions?
HI, After much effort I managed to reinstall XP from scrtatch - (All references and recovery partitions deleted in ACER) . But did this with the BIOS having the SATA HDD set to IDE mode instead of ACHI. The system boots to XP and all working
How can I ?
Iis it importatnt / benefit ?
To get the AHCI mode working- I assume a driver is required but not sure how to integrate this now the XP OS is up and running.
