BIOS problems

Sep 25, 2004 2:35PM PDT

I updated my HP Pavilion N3350's BIOS to version 1.21. After I did that my laptop would not boot anybody know any sites where I can download a previous version of the BIOS so that I can get my laptop up and running?

can you boot using a CD or floppy with another operating system such as DOS or win98
Did you you also make a backup of the original BIOS when you upgraded the latest version. - all you needed to do was keep a copy and you can (could have) reburn the original.

I can boot from a floppy and a cd but whenever it tries to access the hard drive it locks up. The original laptop had a 5GB hard drive and was upgraded to 30GB. It worked fine until the BIOS was upgraded. I didn't copy the BIOS onto a floopy and have been trying to find it online with no luck. The problem seems to be that the new BIOS cannot handle a large hard drive. I installed the old 5GB hard drive and it boots up ok. If I can get a hold of the old BIOS version the laptop should work again. Anyone know where I can find it?

find it hard to understand why the latest bios version you have installed wont recognise (your) larger disks and yet the previous version did. Doesn't make sense to me - Try Bob Proffitts links and if still dont have any luck i can help you to try and find a newer or the previous bios
But as i said i think something else is causing the problem - u haven't said if your BIOS recognises the disk or what operating system you are using - it may just be the operating system that has become confused
