Bezel Crack - UN55B8000XFXZA

We recently purchased this TV and just after having it installed on the wall, we noticed a hairline crack in the frame and a small piece chipped out of the clear edge on the left hand side.

We weren't sure where it occurred because it could have happened with the retailer or when were were taking it home, or with the installer. We inpsected at the store when they opened the box, but they only removed the loose wrapping and not the protective tape around the frame. We really didn't notice it at all until after the installer left.

We contacted 800-samsung and were surprised to learn the bezel is covered by the warranty and they're sending a local tech out to replace it. Just wondering if this is a common problem and if you know of what the "bezel" is comprised. Is it strictly the clear edge, or does it include the glossy face of the frame as well?

Sorry to hear about your situation. It's usually pretty rare that bezels come chipped out of the box, but it's good to know that it's getting taken care of.

Bezel replacements vary by the model. I don't have a definitive way of knowing what all will be replaced.

Given the model number I included in the subject line, are you unable to tell what encompasses the bezel on this particular TV?

Bezel Crack - LE37B652

In our new LE37B652 we found also the bezel cracked, we have seen it the first time as it was monted at the wall and we removed the protection band, too. The original transport package was ok, no sign of a shipping damage or sometihng else.

We have contact immediately the dealer, but he found not responsible because it was three days after the TV was shipped and we had mounted it.

We contact Samsung in Germany (refno #1007539355), but Samsung felt not to be responsible, they said we had to pay a repair of appr. 300 Euro, half of the costs of a newTV. So we decided to buy only the spare part for 70 Euro an replace it by ourselves.

That is our story of a Samsung broken bezel. You can be happy to had help by Samsung, we definitly not and that for an incident which was not caused by us.

That and the bad DLNA implementation are the reason not to buy Samsung again.
