Between these Two Laptops Which is Best

by vscav1 / January 19, 2007 1:16 AM PST

I'm looking for the best overall laptop for the money between Acer As3690 (400 dollars) and the HP pavilion dv6000z (550 dollars). I am a college student and also frequently use my PC for music listening and games. I would like a notebook with crisp graphics and a fast processor. Thanks for your help. If anyone knows of a better buy in the 500-900 dollar price range let me know.

HP

I don't have to see any configurations. Simply HP.

The quality of Acer's laptop is simply not as good as HP. And after-sale service at HP is ( according to users ) better than the one of Acer.

hey...like Ghost26 said it should definitely be HP....but sorry to disappoint you on crisp graphics and a fast processor...neither of the two laptops at their base configurations ( which you ll get at $ 400 and $550 ) will be able to give u that performace....
i suggest you to two customize laptop at HP website....u can get pretty cool machine at $900... i don't why are you going with 6000z series of AMD and not with 6000t series with Intel....Intel is better performer than AMD in the mobile section of PC's.

HP Definitly

I would take HP, because it has more support than Acer (as far as I know it is a big company with supported dealers around the world, which means if something happens you're very likely to be helped) plus the 6000tz is very cheap for what it packs. For instance you can have the top of the line turion 64 ml-60 and a 256mb video card 2gb of ram at 1000 bucks or the same configuration with 1gb of ram at 829 bucks (so you have 70 bucks to improve the 40 gb hard drive that comes with it (just customize your dv6000z at www.hp.com).

A friend of mine bought the top of the line dv6000z and it is an excellent laptop, it has never had problems, and it packs great performance at a good price. I'm really looking fordward to buy one, but i guess i have to save a little more.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
