Both the HPZT3000 series and the Compaq X1000 series (of which your 2 models above are specific models within the families I posted above) are essentially the same notebook.
See X1000forums.com for specific information on these notebooks as well as ordering discounts, etc.
Note, however that both of these models are somewhat outdated as they both have the Pentium M (Banias) 1.4 or 1.5 mhz cpu with 1mb L2 system cache. If you to to hpshopping.com and do a custom order build for either a Compaq X1000 or HPZT3000 you will see that the Pentium M 1.6 725 Dothan cpu or above (705 1.5 is NOT a Dothan) has double the L2 system cache now or 2mb .. this will give you faster internet access, etc as the cpu system cache is faster than system RAM and is now double in size on the cpu.
