Best wireless router for VoIP, MIMO technology?

Yes, I probably do need to update the firmware on my DI-624. I'm on 2.5, and I see that 2.7 is available. I'll try that to see if the performance improves.

If it doesn't resolve the connection problem (lost signal), then I will upgrade to a router with MIMO technology as long as the VoIP will work.

I read a review from someone who recently purchased the Belkin Pre-N Router. He said that his VoIP would not work with the router. He had to connect the VoIP directly to the cable modem. And then add a separate connection to his router from the cable modem. Once he resolved his problem, he like the router for the speed and wireless range.

Too many out there claiming "it doesn't work" yet they don't check for updates. I agree it would be nice if the product was not delivered with a defect.

I also think that wifi will drop in spite of any wifi router you pick. You are in the wide open and interferring signals will cause a drop. Nature of the beast so it's hard to get a sympathetic ear.

Bob, thanks for your help, but I'm not referring to the Wi-Fi portion of the router. The issues that I am referring to are via the ethernet cable. When I look at the reviews of the DI-624, I see that I am not alone in having signal losses.

The VoIP is directly connected via a cat-5 cable.

Their latest firmware is doing great. It's one of the issues I encounter daily. Check that firmware version.
