Question

best way to use ms backup

May 14, 2012 11:54PM PDT

hello,

what is the best way to back up data, and then restore it?
I have a 1tb ext hdd, and run incremental backups of my docs folder, appending the data. the system saves only recently changed files, so I have 13 sets of data, all containing different data.
1)is this the best way to back up?
2) how would I restore all of this data? choose all of the sets to restore?
3) if this is not the best way to back up, what is?

thank you,

Mike

I would look at other backup apps such as SYNCBACK, GOODSYNC, ACRONIS, CLONEZILLA and others.

I can only guess you haven't been burned by Microsoft's backup software yet. Yes, folk do see it work then later.

Who knows, since which one is best for me might not be best for you. Look into each one, compare it against what you need, and go from there.

Encrypted backup? Isn't that the problem? Folk that encrypt their files and can get them back out?

I can only guess the author has not been burned enough times.
