For years I've used the old pull the HDD out and adapters. For software, more at noted in the top post of the CNET Storage Forum so let's note that now.

The adapter I use the most is found with google and the words GEEKS 2020.

RAID recovery is an advanced topic.

But let me note the usual hurdle to RAID recovery is the cost. I find most owners will not pay for the recovery. It costs more because we have to not only get the RAID controllers that were in the old system but the time spent either on the phone with the RAID folk or getting our Linux programming staff to whip up another custom recovery app runs in the thousands.

Makes you wonder why folk have to learn about backup the hard way.

Which is the short way of writing about circuit design, firmware, code all the way up and beyond a PC.
