Best way to connect laptop with VGA and HDMI to older HDTV?

Jul 4, 2009 12:52AM PDT

My rents have a Hitachi RP HDTV with only component hookups for HD, and my laptop (so I can play BDs for them) only has VGA and HDMI outputs. I tried one of those VGA-Component cables but ran aground on the differing video specs (RGB on the PC end, YPbPr on the TV side). Any suggestions? (I'm hoping to avoid having to get one of those component adapter boxes for like $200).
