Question

Best TV Tunner

Dec 22, 2014 4:23AM PST

I live in an area where a TV antenna works just fine. We do not have cable. Our only other choice would be a dish.

I installed a new digital antenna and channel master. When conected to our old tube type TV we cann pick up a bunch of channels. When I connect the antenna to our new Flat screen Visio TV I can bring in only about half of the channels. Many calls to the Visio tech. department they told me to return the TV if I was unhappy with it. The channels that do come in come in crystal clear.

Are the new TV tunners as good?
What Brand of TV's have the best tunners for antenna TV?

The antenna is a large roof mounted with channel master roter. The point being I have used the same antenna system with two different TV's. The older tube TV pulls in way more channels than the new Flat screen. Is there a stand alone tunner I can purchase or is there a new Flat screen TV that has better tuners than the Visio?

But you search for them in BD players today. I'd shop with Amazon Prime so you can buy two or more, test and return.
