The criteria for best is bad enough but then how to give weight to each area and what if I found a laptop that was really fine for all that after I put a SSD in it?
For example my wife really likes her Asus x200ca with a 240GB SSD. Today cost was about 300USD.

I've done a fair bit of google'ing, and Google and reviews are helpful to an extent, but I wondered if anybody here would be able to tell me which laptops are decent for everyday uses, such as browsing the internet, using word and PowerPoint, etc?
Anywhere in the region of £300-£500 is what I'm looking for.
Thanks!
