Best storage for Dell Inspiron 6000?

Sep 25, 2005 2:36AM PDT

Any ideas on the best storage for my Dell laptop? I'm looking at various external hard drives, 80-160GB range, also wondering if it's possible/feasible to hook up an internal HD (since they're cheaper).
Is there a huge difference between Western Digital, Maxtor and other popular units usually found at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.?
Tks for informed opinions...

Desktop internal hard drives (3.5 inch) may be installed in an external hard drive enclosure, but you won't get the bundled utility software that will come with a retail packaged external hard drive.

Western Digital and Maxtor are fine brands.
