No ONE Program Is Best...
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / July 22, 2005 1:12 PM PDT

Since they all tend to find slightly different things, using a "group" of malware removal tools tends to work best for most...I've worked on really infested machines where Ad-Aware found the final remnants when nothing else would. Likewise another machine had remnants that only Spybot would find...Likewise with Microsoft Antispyware..Sometimes, it takes HijackThis to clean things up. Sometimes CWShredder. It depends on the malware problem and the machine involved.

Use a bunch and you'll have a better chance of find ALL of the malware.

Hope this helps.

Unfortunately,

No one program will detect all spyware and adware. That's why most use multiple programs to keep their computer safe.
Microsoft Antispyware is a good free program, along with Spyware Blaster, Spybot Search & Destroy, Adaware, CWShredder.
The pests that escape one are usually caught by one of the others.
The combination of these, along with good, up to date, Antivirus and firewall programs, should do an adequate job.
