Best spot to put peripherals for a CRT HDTV?

Jun 4, 2008 5:05AM PDT

Hello,

We are possibly going to buy a used Toshiba HDTV (51HC85), which is obviously meant to stand on it's own. How have others with these large TVs stored their peripherals (e.g. cable box, TiVo, DVD players, etc.)? Most shelving units I've seen (including the one we have for our current TV) are meant to hold the TV on top. Is it best to have a small shelving unit sitting next to the TV? I'm trying to avoid the big wad of cables going from a shelving unit to the TV, but I can't think of another option.

Has anyone come up with any creative ideas? Can you share photos?

Thanks!
